Scott Waddington – Billings Arts Association

For April and May 2026, we are featuring Scott Waddington of Billings Arts Association.
Scott Waddington Artist’s Statement
I grew up in a family of artists (I am 5th generation and actually have an oil painting of Mt Hood painted by my material Great, Great Grandmother Elizabeth Hazleton hanging in my dining room) and had an interest in music and art in high school. Art took a hiatus while I played and toured in a local rock band for several years.
At the start of the pandemic I was looking for some solitary activities to do after my masonry jobs/ snow plowing and landed on collecting comics. This past year, due to hyperacusis (acute hearing issues), I resumed drawing and used the traditional comic style to hone my skills while I continue to learn digital. Some of my fondest memories occurred in the 90’s growing up and I’ve admired the artists of that era. Some of my current favorite artists: Robert Marzullo, Todd Mcfarlane, Ron Lim, and of course my family’s works. I’m currently in the process of creating a website Waddstudio.com for a portfolio and hopefully kick start a web design company. I have always enjoyed contract or gig work and feel like I really thrive in this industry. Looking forward to building new connections and meeting other up and coming and veteran artists in the Billings art scene.
Welcome to Sandstone, Scott!
