Leo held a Bachelors Degree from MSUB and a Masters Degree from MSU Bozeman. His works in several media won numerous regional awards and are in many private and public collections.
Area residents are familiar with his large-scale sculptures including the Good Shepherd in front of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Bronc on the exterior of Billings Senior High.
He exhibited in numerous solo and group shows including MSUB, MSU Bozeman, U of M, University of Oregon, Gallery 85, Rubenstein-Serkez – Denver, Washington Senate, Lewistown Art Center, Depot Gallery – Red Lodge, Jade Gallery – Tacoma, Big Fork Art Center, Sandpiper Gallery – Polsom
