FEATURED ARTIST
Dates: August/September 2024
Lynnsey’s art is known for capturing a slice of everyday life-achieved on a street corner, battling the elements, navigating through human interaction, whilst balancing art materials and ideas. She has always been attracted to capturing scenes quickly, and preserving the moment, as it is most like representing scenes for theatre.
Lynnsey was classically trained as a costume designer and scenic artist and worked professionally as a costume designer for many years. Her Master of Fine Arts degree is from University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She went on to join Florida School of the Arts as a tenured professor. There, she taught everything from drawing & painting to sewing, and scenic design. She retired from teaching in 2010, moving home to Montana after living for a decade on the east coast. She currently resides near Edgar and records snippets of time in and around Billings.
