Jean Posusta

April 3 - May 26

Jean Posusta

Billings Arts Association

FEATURED ARTIST

Dates: April/May 2024

Welcome to Sandstone, Jean!

About Jean:

She can’t control her talent!  Baby Boomer Jean Posusta has talent niches which cross cultures; painting, writing and directing and creating in a gamut of arts.

Broad brushes and unusually shaped or divided and frameless canvases intimate her acrylic stylings.  Aspen groves and bayous draw you “back home”, as you stare at her canvas.

Capturing Montana’s serenity is her favorite ‘subject’.  Her personal joy in viewing God’s creations is seen in her work, expressed through acrylics and ‘nature’s’ appendages affixed to her canvases.   In an early retirement, Jean returned to the palette to create her current installation:

“Montana, Montana – It Bears Repeating”

Jean has previously displayed her talents in her home studio, Billings & Red Lodge Art Walks, decorating homes and shops, and Midwest shows.

Jean Posusta, as an author, has written and directed numerous Murder Mysteries for Performance, song lyrics and poetry; and several books, Hope We Don’t Go to Paulette’s Again Soon and Twisted Winds of Verango, I See You with My Heart, and Is Anybody Else Like Me?  Adding quotes to outdoor photos mounted on natural slate is another art form used; called ‘Poetography’.   Floral Design is one more endeavor where she expresses her artistic flairs.  Over 100 of her holiday arrangement show pieces have been judged at the Yellowstone Art Museum, displayed in Show of Homes, and TimeSquare Furniture.

As a journalist, she was a key contributor for “Rocky Mountain 3”, and dedicated a book to Hospice about recovering from the death experience for families, It Just Doesn’t Make any Sense.   In God and nature, Jean finds her catalysts.

While docenting children at the Yellowstone Art Museum, Jean became intrigued by regional artists Carol Hagan, Carol Spielman, and Harry Koyama.   Jean dabbled as an art agent for a couple of friends and found she was reinspired while visiting galleries and got back to painting 10 years ago.  Her art work is currently found in eight galleries around Montana.
