“In the sprawling vistas of Montana’s Big Sky country, where the horizon kisses the untamed wilderness, my art finds its heartbeat.”
I’m Charlene, an abstract artist born and raised in Ottawa, Canada and now rooted in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains outside the quaint town of Columbus, Montana, where the majesty of nature and the legacy of architectural composition converge in my work. I work in acrylic and oil paints, pastel and am exploring digital assemblage printed on metal.
My journey in art is not just a path walked with brushes and paints; it is an expedition across the diverse landscapes of creativity and design. With a foundation in architecture, my work mirrors the structural harmony found in the built environment, blended with the organic chaos and geometries of nature. This duality reflects in my abstract pieces, where precision meets passion, and form dances with color.
My art is a dialogue between the seen and unseen. Each piece is an exploration, a journey through the wild terrains that cradle our home and encompass our dreams. The sweeping views of Montana, with their endless skies and rugged earth, are not just backdrops but active participants in my artistic process. They are the muse and the canvas, the color and the form.
